Question:-
I intend performing Aqeeqah for my newborn child. Does the sheep, which I wish to slaughter for Aqeeqah, require a tail?
Answer:-
The requirements for an Aqeeqah animal are the same as for a Qurbani animal. If 1/3 or more of the tail of the Qurbani animal is cut off, then the animal will not qualify for Qurbani. Likewise, if 1/3 or more of the tail of the Aqeeqah animal is removed, the animal cannot be used for Aqeeqah.
