Reward for making Tawaaf of the Ka’bah Sharif
We make Tawaaf of the Ka’bah Sharif fulfilling the command of Allah Ta’ala. As Muslims, we worship Allah Ta’ala, Who is the Rabb of the House, and not the House itself. Hence, great rewards are promised by Allah Ta’ala for making Tawaaf of Ka’bah Sharif.
Ibn Abbas Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “He who makes Tawaaf of the Ka’bah Sharif fifty times, comes out of his sins like the day his mother gave birth to him.” [Tirmidhi]
Abdullah ibn Ubayd ibn Umair Radiallahu Anhu narrates that he heard his father asking Ibn Umar Radiallahu Anhu: “How is it that I do not see you touching any of the corners except these two, the Hajar-e-Aswad and the Rukn-e-Yamani?” Ibn Umar Radiallahu Anhu replied: “If I do that, then it is because I certainly heard Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying: “Touching these two corners wipes out sins.” He continued: “And I heard Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, ‘ He who performs seven rounds of Tawaaf and offers two Rakaats of Salaah, then it is equivalent to freeing a slave.’ He then said: “And I heard him Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, ‘Every time a person raises his foot and places it on the ground, ten good deeds are recorded in his favour, ten evils are wiped off his record, and he is raised by ten ranks.” [Ahmad]
Ibn Abbas Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Everyday, Allah Ta’ala sends down 120 Mercies to the pilgirims of His Sacred House; 60 Mercies for those who make Tawaaf, 40 Mercies for those who offer Salaah, and 20 Mercies for those who look at the Ka’bah Sharif.” [Baihaqi]
Humaid ibn Abi Sawiyyah narrates: “I heard ibn Hisham asking Ata ibn Abi Rabah Rahimahullah about the Rukn-e-Yamani while he was making Tawaaf of the Ka’bah Sharif. Ata Rahimahullah said, ‘Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrated to me that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “There are 70 angels appointed to it. He who says, ‘O Allah! I ask you for pardon and well-being in this world and the hereafter. O our Sustainer! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of Jahannam!’, those Angels say, ‘Ameen!’
Then, when Ata Rahimahullah reached the Hajar-e-Aswad, he asked him, ‘O Abu Muhammad! What have you heard about this black corner?’ Ata Rahimahullah said, ‘Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrated to me that he heard Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, ‘He who holds onto it, is actually holding on to the Hand of the Merciful Allah!’
Ibn Hisham asked him, ‘O Abu Muhammad! What about the Tawaaf?’ Ata Rahimahullah replied, ‘Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrated to me that he heard Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, ‘He who makes Tawaaf of the Ka’bah Sharif seven times, without uttering anything except the following, ten evils are wiped off him, ten good deeds are recorded in his favour, and his rank is elevated by ten. And he who makes Tawaaf of the Ka’bah Sharif while talking, he has dipped his feet in Mercy, as a person dips his feet in water.” [Ibn Majah]
The supplication referred to in the above Hadith, is the third kalimah.
Abdullah Bin Amr Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “The corner (Hajar-e-Aswad) will come on the Day of resurrection larger than mount Abu Qubays. It will have two tongues and two lips.” Ibn Khuzaymah Rahimahullah adds: “It will speak on behalf of those who touched it with an intention. It is the Right Hand of Allah Ta’ala with which He shakes hands with His creation.” [Ahmad]
Abdullah Bin Amr Radiallahu Anhu narrates: “I heard Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying the following while his back was against the Ka’bah, ‘The corner (the Hajar-e- Aswad) and the Maqaam-e-Ibraheem, are two sapphires from the sapphires of Paradise. Had Allah Ta’ala not extinguished their light, they would have illuminated the East and West.” [Tirmidhi]
May Allah Ta’ala grants us all the Taufeeq of visiting His House, and attaining these virtues. Ameen!
