Reward For Offering Salaah in the First Row

Hadrat Al-Bara Bin Aazib Radiallahu Anhu narrates: Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to go to the end of the row and straighten the chests and shoulders of the people. He used to say, “Let there not be crookedness or else your hearts will disunite. Surely Allah Ta’ala and His angels send salutations to the first row.” [Ibn Khuzaimah]

Hadrat Abu Umaamah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Surely Allah Ta’ala and His angels send salutations to the first row.” The Sahaabah Radiallahu Anhum asked, “Oh Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam! And on the second row?” Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Surely Allah Ta’ala and His Angels send salutations to the first row.” The Sahaabah Radiallahu Anhum asked, “And on the second row?” Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “And on the second row.” [Ibn Majah]

Hadrat Al- Irbad Ibn Saariyah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to seek forgiveness for the first row three times, and for the second row two times.” [Ibn Majah]

Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “If people only knew the reward for calling out the Adhaan and the first row, and they are only able to do these deeds by drawing lots, they would have drawn lots (in order to do them).” [Bukhari]

Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “The best row of the men is the first row and the worst is the last row. And the best row of the women is the last row and the worst is the first row.” [Muslim]
