Question:-
Are we permitted to sell birthday cakes?
Answer:-
Your primary object and intention of selling cakes is for the consumption of people. With this intention and objective in mind, it will be permissible for you to sell cakes. If the consumer purchases it with the intention of celebrating a birthday, then you are not responsible, rather the sin is on him. Also, it is necessary for you to enquire from the consumer as to why he is purchasing the cake. However, it will not be permissible for you to attach any symbols of Kufr or Kuffar celebrations on the cake.
اگر کوئی چیز یا لباس ایسا ہے جس کا جائز استعال بھی ہوسکتا ہے اور ناجائز استعمال بھی ہوسکتا ہے تو ایسے لباس اور ایسی چیز کی خرید وفروخت شرعا جائز ہے ۔ اب اگر کوئی اس کو خرید کر اس کا ناجائز استعمال کرتا ہے تو یہ اس کا گناہ اس خریدار پر ہوگا – فقہی مقالات ص۱۰۰ ج۳
