Selling goods ordered by a customer

Question:-

The Masjid committee asked my father to order some paint for the parking. My father ordered it but they haven’t taken it as yet. A period of 5 years has already elapsed. We have used some of the paint and now want to sell the remainder. Can we sell the remaining paint?

Answer:-

We understand from your query that the paint was ordered for the Masjid. However, the Masjid didn’t pay for the paint hence, it remained in the ownership of your father. Since the paint still belongs to your father and not the Masjid, the paint may be sold.
