Selling second-hand clothing

Question:-

Is one permitted to sell second-hand clothing?

Answer:-

There is no problem with selling second-hand clothing if it is made known to the buyer that the clothing being sold is second-hand. If the buyer happily purchases the second-hand clothing, then the transaction will be in order.

وهُوَ مُبَادَلَةُ الْمَالِ بِالْمَالِ بِالتَّرَاضِي وَهَذَا فِي الشَّرْعِ، وَفِي اللُّغَةِ هُوَ مُطْلَقُ الْمُبَادَلَةِ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَقْيِيدٍ بِالتَّرَاضِي، وَكَوْنُهُ مُقَيَّدًا بِهِ ثَبَتَ شَرْعًا لِقَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {إِلا أَنْ تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً عَنْ تَرَاضٍ} [النساء: 29]
