QUESTION:
Can a son-in-law take his mother-in-law for Umrah? Just the two of them will be travelling.
ANSWER:
A son-in-law is a Mahram to his mother-in-law, hence, it is permissible for the son-in-law to travel with his mother-in-law with the proviso that there is no fear of fitnah. However, it is advisable that the daughter accompanies her mother as well. [Re: Fataawa Uthmaaniyyah Vol:4 Pg:309]
