Sprinkling water over the grave
Question:-
Is there any significance for throwing water over the Qabr when visiting the graves of our loved ones?
Answer:-
It is Mustahab to sprinkle some water over the grave so that the sand settles and doesn’t move about. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.102 Vol.10] If we find that the sand is loose and spreading all over (when visiting the graves of beloved ones), then there is no harm in sprinkling some water so that the sand becomes firm and settles down.
