Reconciliation after a Talaaq-e-Baa’in

Dec 25, 2022 | Talaaq (Divorce)

Question:-

My husband gave me one Talaaq-e-Baa’in. We would now like to reconcile as I have forgiven him. What is the ruling with regard to reconciling with your husband after a Talaaq-e-Baa’in? My parents are against us getting back together but we have a child. Kindly advise!

Answer:-

If both spouses intend reconciling after a Talaaq-e-Baa’in, then the Nikah will have to be renewed, as long as only one or two divorces have been issued. Generally, it is meritorious and encouraged for both parties to reconcile and make a home, particularly when there is a minor child or children involved. However, we are not aware of the background that led to your divorce, nor are we aware of the reasons for your parent’s disapproval, hence making it difficult for us to comment on the matter.
