Suffering from urine drops after relieving oneself

Jan 10, 2024 | Ma'zoor

Question:-

After urinating, when I squeeze the penis urine drops come out for about 30 mins (after urinating). This takes a long time to clear.

I recently had a cystoscopy and Alhamdulilah it was clear. The Dr did not recommend medication due to heavy side effects.

1. What do I do if I go to the toilet and there’s less time for Salaah remaining, and these drops come with the risk of Salaah time expiring?

2. If I stay for a lengthy duration in a public toilet, it causes annoyance to people especially during travel. If I do Istibra, then  the urine drops will emerge for 30 minutes thereafter as explained above. Also, I cannot use the bathroom for the second time as I am travelling. What do I do in such a case?

Answer:-

A person who does not find sufficient time to make Wudhu and perform Salaah due to experiencing continuous urine drops throughout the entire Salaah period is categorized as a Madhoor. However, if one manages to make Wudhu and perform his Salaah without experiencing any urine drops, then he will not be classified as a Madhoor. In this case, he will have to wait until the urine drops cease, and then perform Salaah after making Istinja and Wudhu.

However, in your instance, the urine drops emerge for approximately 30 minutes after relieving yourself, hence you will not be considered as a Madhoor. Now, if there isn’t sufficient time to wait for the urine drops to cease as the Salaah time might expire or you intend engaging in some Ibaadah, then after relieving yourself you should insert a piece of cotton or tissue in the penis. As long as the external portion of the tissue doesn’t become moist your Wudhu will remain intact. You may then make Wudhu and perform Salaah.
