QUESTION:
What Kurta is Sunnah or closest to Sunnah ?
ANSWER:
We haven’t found any clearcut narration which provides a clear description of the Kurta of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam in terms of whether it was slit on the sides or not. However, the Ulama have written that the Kurta worn by the righteous and pious will be permissible to wear. Amongst the righteous and pious, there are those that wear the long Kurta that hangs above the ankles whilst others wear the short Kurta with slits which was worn by a number of our Akaabireen in the past and is worn by a number of the current day Ulama-e-Haqq. Hence, one may adopt any of the above attire.
