The Abrahamic Accord

The Abrahamic Accord has been formulated to create peace between Israel and Middle Eastern countries according to media reports. As a result, the U.A.E has now based their Embassy in Tel Aviv, and Israel has based their embassy in Abu Dhabi. They also have hope of strengthening ties and economic relations between the countries that have signed the accord. India, too, has welcomed the accord according to reports. Although this is being propagated at surface level, they certainly have hidden agendas and sinister plots going on behind the scenes.

They state that the Abrahamic Accord is based on mutual understanding and coexistence, which in simple terms means that, we as Muslims should be prepared to live with, and tolerate other religions in the world. The accord states, “The parties shall undertake to foster mutual understanding, respect, coexistence and culture of peace between their societies.”

Allah Ta’ala states in the Quraan Sharif,

Definitely the only Deen (religion) with Allah (acceptable by Allah) is Islam (Surah Aale Imraan, Verse 19)

Whoever seeks a Deen besides Islam, it shall never be accepted from him and he will be among the losers in the Aakhirah (because he will suffer punishment in Jahannam for rejecting the natural Deen and making an incorrect choice).

The Kuffar of Makkah also negotiated with Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam with regards to their Deen. They said that they were prepared to accept Islam if Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam worshipped their idols, or merely kissed them. Allah Ta’ala revealed the verses of Surah Kaafiroon wherein Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam was instructed to inform the Kuffar of Makkah that he will never worship their deities. In the final verse of this Surah, Allah Ta’ala says,

For you is your religion and for me is mine.

We learn from this Surah that interfaith gatherings and compromising in matters of Deen is not something new. Such negotiations existed from the time of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. The Quraan Sharif provided a clear cut ruling on the matter that there is no compromise in the matters of Deen. The Kuffar should continue with their Deen and acts of worship, and we, the Muslims, will continue with our Deen and Ibaadaat. After all, they are really not interested in adopting our Deen of Islam, rather they want to attract us to their Deen.

The way of the Sahaaba Radiallahu Anhum was to give Dawat towards the Deen of Islam. If the Kuffar were not prepared to accept the Deen of Islam, then they would be requested to pay Jizya (tax) to the Muslim government (and the Muslims would offer protection to them in return), failing which, they would go to war as a last resort. Yes, if the Kuffar opted to pay taxes, they would live under Muslim rule and the Muslim government would allow them to freely practice upon their religion. However, never did Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam and the Sahaaba stoop to a level whereby they would discuss religion with the disbelievers, and thereby increase their level of acceptance for religions of Kufr. There can never be any form of compromise in Deen.

Regarding discussions with the Ahle-Kitaab, Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said,

Do not ask the Ahle-Kitaab in regards to any matter, for verily they will not guide you and they are certainly misguided. (By discussing matters with the Ahle-Kitaab), either you will testify to falsehood or deny the truth. By Allah, if Moosa  was alive and amidst you, he too will (have no choice but) to follow me.

This Hadith clearly indicates that we shouldn’t participate in any religious discussion with the Ahle-Kitaab, or else we will be trapped by them at some stage and consequently testify to falsehood, or deny the truth. This is such a dangerous practice that could result in us losing our Imaan.

Jaabir Radiallahu Anhu  narrates from Rasulullah  Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam that verily Umar Radiallahu Anhu came to him and said, “Verily we hear incidents of the Jews which astonish us. Give us a verdict so that we may write (record) some of them! Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Are you astonished (with their incidents) as the Jews and Christians were astonished? Certainly, I have brought it (Deen) to you absolutely clear and pure. If Moosa was alive, it would not suffice him except to follow me.”

Hadrat Abdullah Bin Huzaafa Sahmi Radiallahu Anhu was captured by the Romans and taken to their king. The king told him, “Become a Christian and I will make you a partner in my kingdom and get you married to my daughter.” Abdullah Radiallahu Anhu replied, “Even if you were to give all that you own, and all that the Arabs own, so that I turn away from the Deen of Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam equivalent to the blink of an eye, then too I wouldn’t be prepared to do so.” The king said, “In that case, I will kill you.” Abdullah Radiallahu Anhu replied, “That is up to you.” The king instructed that he be hung up and commanded the archers to strike the arrows at him. They shot arrows close to his hands and feet whilst the king kept presenting Christianity to him, but even then he rejected it. The king then instructed that he be lowered, and a large pot be brought. It was boiled and Muslims captives were thrown into the boiling pot whilst he was observing everything. Within seconds they turned to bones, and (whilst all this was happening) Christianity would be presented before him, but he rejected it. He then gave the instruction that Abdullah bin Huzaafa Radiallahu Anhu be thrown into the pot. He was picked up to be thrown into the pot and began weeping. The king had hope in him (now accepting Christianity) and called for him. Abdullah Radiallahu Anhu said, “I am crying as I only have one life which will be thrown into this pot at this time in the path of Allah. I wish that I had lives equivalent to the hair of my body which will be punished in this manner in the path of Allah Ta’ala.”

The Sahaaba sacrificed their lives in the path of Allah Ta’ala but never comprised on their Deen. The Shariah of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam has abrogated all previous Deens to the extent that Isa Alaihis Salaam was the Nabi of his era, but will return as the follower of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Today, the demand of the Kuffar is to respect, tolerate and coexist with other religions. This is just the starting point, and perhaps a time will dawn when we will be required to compromise on fundamental beliefs as a result of which we will lose our Imaan. The narration is recorded in Musannaf Abdur Razzaq, wherein Hadrat Umar Radiallahu Anhu states that he heard Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, “I will most certainly remove the Jews and the Christians from the Arabian peninsula to the extent that I will not leave in it except a Muslim.” This was the desire of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, and yet the Abrahamic Accord is primarily focused on Arab countries.

The USA, who were instrumental in arranging the Abrahamic Accord, state that they promote peace between the 3 Abrahamic religions. This is their understanding in regards to Ibrahim Alaihis Salaam, yet the Quraan categorically states the belief of Ibrahim Alaihis Salaam in the following words,

Ibraheem  was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was Hanif (one inclined towards the truth and averse to all false creeds) and a Muslim (subservient to Allah). He was never from the Mushrikeen.

Yet in another verse, the declaration of Ibrahim Alaihis Salaam is recorded,

“Verily, I have turned my face (my devotion and worship) to only that Being Who created the heavens and the earth, as a Haneef (one who does not incline towards any deviation but inclines to the straight way, which is the path Allah sanctions) and I am not from the Mushrikeen.”

May Allah Ta’ala guide us and protect the Ummah from these plots of the Kuffar. Ameen!
