The Reward For He Who Leaves To Offer Salaah In Congregation And Finds That The Congregation Is Over
Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever performs a complete Wudhu and leaves (for the congregational Salaah), and finds that the people have already offered their Salaah, Allah Ta’ala gives him a reward equal to he who offered it with congregation, without their rewards being decreased in any way.” [Sunan Abu Dawud]
Hadrat Sa’eed ibn Al-Musayyib Radiallahu Anhu narrates: “Death approached a person from the Ansaar, so he said, ‘I am going to relate a Hadith to you. The only reason for doing so is to get the reward for it from Allah Ta’ala. I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam say, ‘If one of you performs a perfect Wudhu and then leaves to offer the congregational Salaah, then for every time he raises his right foot, Allah Ta’ala records a good deed in his favour, and every time he places his left foot on the ground, Allah Ta’ala wipes out one sin from him. So, he may either take big steps or small steps. When he comes to the Masjid and offers Salaah in congregation, he is forgiven. When he comes to the Masjid and finds that part of the Salaah has been offered and part is still left, he should offer what is left and make up for the remainder which he missed. He will still receive the same reward. When he comes to the Masjid and finds that the people have completed the entire Salaah, he should offer his Salaah and he will still receive the same reward.’” [Sunan Abu Dawud]
