QUESTION:
Is permission from a neighbour required before intending to trim a part of a tree overhanging into another property?
ANSWER:
If the branch/es of a tree extend or overlap onto the neighbour’s property and is causing inconvenience to the neighbour, then the branches may be trimmed by the neighbour. However, it is best to inform the neighbour before doing so, so that any possible dispute may be avoided. [Re: Fataawa Qaasmiyyah Vol:23 Pg157]
