Usage of Emojis

Question:-

Are we permitted to utilize emojis when sending messages?

Answer:-

Although the emojis used nowadays are not the real face of a human being, we discourage the usage of such emojis due to a number of evils.

Many of these emojis are used for impermissible reasons such as illicit relationships, flirting, etc. How many impermissible relations are perhaps initiated by sending a single emoji!

The vast majority of our children are growing up playing with various devices and thereby utilizing these emojis all the time. Similarly, they watch their seniors doing the same. In their simple and innocent minds they do not consider it as any harm in forwarding faces with various expressions. The natural consequence and result of this is that they could grow up with the mindset that photography, cartoons, etc. is all permitted.

These are some of the harms that we have listed. There are perhaps many other harms which we are not even aware of as yet, hence we advise abstention.
