Virtues of Surah Ar-Rahman

QUESTION:

Are there any virtues attached to the recitation of Surah Rahman daily as a Wazifah?

ANSWER:

Imaam Bahaqi Rahimahullah has recorded a Hadith which states:

لكل شي عروس وعروس القران الرحمن (رواه البيهقي)

Everything has an adornment, and the adornment of the Quraan is Surah Rahman

In Surah Rahman, the verse “فباي الا ربكما تكذبن” is repeated 31 times. The reciter and the listener will enjoy a feeling of peace and happiness when repeating these verses, hence it was entilted the adornment (bride) of the Quraan Sharif. [Tafseer Anwaarul Bayaan Vol.4 Pg. 286]

The Surah was revealed in response to the Kuffar of Makkah who asked, “Who is Rahmaan?” In this Surah, the various bounties of “Rahmaan” are mentioned. [Tafseer Jamaalain Vol:6 Pg:243]

We were unable to find any virtues for reciting the Surah daily like how virtues have been recorded for reciting Surah Yaseen and other Surahs of the Quraan Sharif.
