Wearing a diaper in Ihraam

QUESTION:

If a person suffers from incontinence, is it permissible to wear a disposable diaper whilst in the state of Ihraam?

ANSWER:

Diapers are not considered as sewn clothing which are generally worn by people. Yes, it is utilized by infants and elderly people with special needs so that they do not mess their clothing. Hence, there is no harm in using the diaper due to necessity.

وَيُكْرَهُ لَهُ أَنْ يَعْصِبَ رَأْسَهُ أَوْ وَجْهَهُ بِغَيْرِ عِلَّةٍ، وَإِنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ يَوْمًا كَامِلًا فَعَلَيْهِ الصَّدَقَةُ كَذَا فِي شَرْحِ الطَّحَاوِيِّ. وَلَوْ عَصَبَ مَوْضِعًا آخَرَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ لَا شَيْءَ عَلَيْهِ، وَإِنْ كَثُرَ لَكِنَّهُ يُكْرَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ عُذْرٍ كَذَا فِي فَتْحِ الْقَدِيرِ (الفتاوي الهندية ص242 ج1)
