Wisdom behind the creation of animals that cannot be consumed

Dec 7, 2021 | Miscellaneous

Question:-

What is the wisdom behind the creation of such animals which are not permissible for consumption?

Answer:-

There are many animals which we are not permitted to eat, but benefit may be derived from various parts of the animal such as their skin, horns, etc. The monkey is also from amongst those animals from which the human being may derive such benefit; for example from its tanned skin, etc. Hence, some of the jurists have even permitted the selling of monkeys. However, it is Haraam (for a Muslim) to derive any sort of benefit from pigs as it is Najis-ul-Ain, hence the wisdom behind creating the swine is totally in the knowledge of Almighty Allah. Allah is Al-Hakeem and the action of a Wise Being is never void of wisdom.

However, we wish to draw your attention to the fact that such a question is of no benefit whatsoever. Rather, it is a futile question. Neither does it benefit one in the world nor in the Hereafter. Assuming we had listed a number of benefits for the creation of these animals, then too it would not have benefitted one in anyway whatsoever. We therefore advise abstention from posing such questions. Yes, if the question pertained to some matter of Deen which one wished to act upon or a business related matter so that one’s transactions may be in conformity with Shariah, then the query would have been valid. May Almighty Allah grant us all the correct understanding. Ameen.

ALLAH TA’ALA KNOWS BEST!
