Question:-
Is it necessary for the husband to inform the wife of his whereabouts particularly when he is out at night?
Answer:-
In this day and age, the husband should inform his wife of his whereabouts and his reason for leaving the home at night. We are living in an era where human life holds no value whatsoever. Murders, hijacking and kidnapping have become the order of the day. Now, if the husband leaves home at night and delays in returning for some reason, then this leaves the wife and the rest of the family restless. It is incorrect for one to inconvenience another human being, hence informing the wife is necessary.
Secondly, we live in an era of Fitnah. If the wife is not informed of the husband’s whereabouts then this could result in her entertaining doubts in regards to her husband, whereas he could have been out for a valid reason. Now, he has become the means of her entertaining suspicion, and such suspicion many a times results in serious marital issues, as the wife suspects the husband to be unfaithful and being involved in an illicit relationship. It is therefore important for the husband to inform his wife of his whereabouts and his reason for leaving the house at night.
Yes, if the husband leaves for Salaah when the Adhaan is called and returns immediately after the Salaah then it is understood that the husband has left for Salaah and will be returning soon. It is not necessary to take permission at such instances.
