Question-
Is it acceptable for a Hanafi to change his Madhab and adopt another Madhab?
Answer:-
It is not permissible for a normal person (that is not a Mujtahid) to move over from one Madhab to another, as this is considered as following one’s wishes and desires. There is great Fasaad in doing so. Yes, if a Mujtahid was following a particular Imaam of Fiqh due to having reliance on him, but due to his vast knowledge and foresight he no longer has reliance on that particular Imaam, then such a Mujtahid is permitted to fully move over to another Madhab. ولو ان رجلا بريء من مذهبه باجتهاد وضح له كان محمودا ماجورا (كتاب الشهادات ص80 ج 4 سعيد):
