The Reward for Reciting the Talbiyah

During the season of Hajj, people from throughout the world flock towards Makkah Mukarramah to fulfil the ritual of Hajj. They don the Ihraam and call out the Talbiyah. There is great reward promised for every action of Hajj to the extent that, the Haji will be rewarded for reciting even the Talbiyah. Hereunder, we have recorded some of these narrations.

Hadrat Sahl Bin Sa’ad Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “When a person says the Talbiyah, all that which is to his right and left-whether it be rocks, trees, or clods of earth – also say the Talbiyah, until all of the earth says it, to his right and his left.”

Hadrat Jabir Bin Abdullah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alahi Wasallam said: “When a person in Ihraam begins the day with reciting the Talbiyah until sunset, then the sun sets with his sins (forgiven.) He thus returns as his mother gave birth to him.”

Hadrat Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alahi Wasallam said: “No person raises his voice with the Talbiyah without him being given glad tidings.” He was asked: “O Rasulullah Salallahu Alahi Wasallam! Is he given the glad tidings of Paradise?” He replied: “Yes!”

In conclusion, the Haji should carry the actions keeping these virtues in mind and having hope of being rewarded by Allah Ta’ala.
