Salaah with a thin Burqah

Nov 18, 2021 | Nullifying Factors

Question:-

How thick should a Burqah be for the Salaah (of a female) to be considered as valid?

Answer:-

If the Burqah has become thin to the extent that the body parts become visible (in Salaah) then performing Salaah with such a Burqah will not be correct, particularly when such parts of the body are necessary to cover in Salaah. However, if all the body parts (required to be covered in Salaah) are adequately covered with clothing, and thereafter one wears an extremely thin Burqah (over such clothing) then Salaah will be valid, as none of the body parts will be visible due to the clothing beneath.

[Re:- Behisthi Zewar Pg.128 Vol.2]

In conclusion, if your Burqah is so thin that parts of the body are visible then Salaah with such a Burqah will not be correct; and if the Burqah hasn’t become so thin then performing Salaah with such a Burqah will be correct.
