Speaking ill of Yazid and the killers of Hadrat Hussein Radiallahu Anhu

Question:-

Can we speak ill of Yazid and those responsible for the martyrdom of Hadrat Hussein Radiallahu Anhu?

Answer:-

It is proven through historic narrations that Yazid was a ‘Faasiq’, but there is no Shari’ee proof to render him as a ‘Kaafir.’ Now that he has passed away, his matter should be left in the Hands of Allah Ta’ala. We should avoid speaking ill of him and refrain from discussing his fate in the hereafter, as this is a futile and pointless exercise. [Kitaab-un-Nawaazil Pg.559 Vol.2 / Fataawa Rasheediyyah Pg.51-78]                

The killers of Hadrat Hussein Radiallahu Anhu witnessed the consequence of their actions in this very world. These people were cursed by Sayyiduna Hussein Radiallahu Anhu:

واقتلهم بددا ولا تذر علي الأرض منهم ابدا (البداية والنهاية ص574 ج8)

Approximately five years after the battle of Karbala, in the time of Mukhtaar Bin Ubaid, the murderers of Hadrat Hussein Radiallahu Anhu were convicted and killed. This was their punishment in the world and Allah alone knows of their position in the hereafter. In conclusion, we shouldn’t waste our time speaking ill of these people as well but rather hand their matter over to Almighty Allah.  [Kitaab-un-Nawaazil Pg.554 Vol.2]
