Will wearing tracksuits be considered as dressing of the Kuffar

Question:-

I would like to know of the permissibility of wearing top and pants (whether tracksuits or shirts etc.) that most of the people wear. Is it considered as resemblance of the Kuffar and is Salaah valid in it?

Answer:- 

Since tops and pants or tracksuits are generally worn by both the sinners and the righteous, and wearing such clothing is not a symbol of the Kuffar and transgressors, one will be permitted to wear such clothing with the proviso that the pants are above the ankles and it does not resemble the clothing of females. Yes, the Sunnah clothing will most definitely be regarded superior to such clothing. [Re:- Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah Pg.403 Vol.27] Salaah in such clothing will be valid. However, one should ensure that the elbows and forearms are covered when performing Salaah as many of the t-shirts worn with the track pants are short sleeves. Also, it should not contain any pictures of animate objects.
