Doubts about impurity on clothing

Question:-

While doing my Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat, I noticed some marks on my Kurta. I’m very uncertain with regards to these marks. I did apply Vaseline before Tawaaf, so it could have been from that, but I’m not sure. What is the status of my Tawaaf?

Answer:-

You had no certainty of any impurity being on your clothing, hence your Tawaaf will be in order.

“وإن كان لم يعلم ذلك” أي وقوع النجاسة في الماء الذي يؤخذ منه، كان الماء طاهرا على حاله؛ لأن الأصل الطهارة فلا يثبت كونه نجسا إلا بالعلم، وإن شك فيه فكذلك طاهر، على الأصل المعهود: أن اليقين لا يزول بالشك. (نخب الأفكار ص68 ج1)
