Haa’idhah removing her Ihraam on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah

Jul 13, 2023 | Haidh And Nifaas, Hajj

QUESTION:-

A woman experiences Haidh during Hajj on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah? When does she become Halaal and remove her Ihraam?

ANSWER:-

Shaving or trimming the hair is a requisite to remove the Ihraam. A female is required to trim her hair equal to the length of her fingertip in order to remove her Ihraam. However, it is Makrooh for a woman experiencing her menstrual cycle to trim her hair without a valid reason. The Haa’idah woman may, therefore, remain in Ihraam until she becomes pure. On reaching purity she may trim her hair and come out of Ihraam.

However, if she trims her hair during Haidh (after completing all the rites of Hajj except Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah), then she will be perpetrating a Makrooh act (by trimming her hair in Haidh), but she will become Halaal and be freed from the restrictions of Ihraam, except for intimacy. She may only engage in intimacy when the Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarah is completed. In conclusion, these are the two options for her to become Halaal.
