Raising the Hands in Dua During the Khutbah

Apr 30, 2025 | Jumuah / Eid

QUESTION:

What is the verdict of a person who raises his hands while the Imaam is making Dua in the Khutbah?

ANSWER:

It is recorded in the Kitaabs of Fiqh that one should not raise the hands and make Dua while the Imaam is making Dua in the Khutbah. Neither should one say ‘Aameen’ verbally. If a person does so, then he will be sinful. One should merely say ‘Aameen’ in the heart.
