QUESTION:
An unmarried female sleeps, has a normal dream, and urinates after waking up, without any sign of discharge. While cleaning herself, she uses her hand to wash the inside area of her vagina, where she gets her menses, and noticed it was moist with a bit of discharge. Does this mean she must take a Ghusl or just wash the area and make Wudhu? There is confusion as she is unsure of what an orgasm is, or how to differentiate between the two.
ANSWER:
Ghusl becomes Waajib when one has a wet dream and semen emits from one’s private part, or wetness is seen after a wet dream. You have stated in your query that “no discharge emerged,” hence, Ghusl will not be necessary. One is simply required to renew one’s Wudhu.

لَكِن الْمُنَاسب هُنَا تَفْسِير الْيَقِين بِالْمَعْنَى الأول اللّغَوِيّ، لِأَن الْأَحْكَام الْفِقْهِيَّة إِنَّمَا تبنى على الظَّاهِر، فكثيراً مَا يكون الْأَمر فِي نظر الشَّرْع يَقِينا لَا يَزُول بِالشَّكِّ فِي حِين أَن الْعقل يُجِيز أَن يكون الْوَاقِع خِلَافه، وَذَلِكَ كالأمر الثَّابِت بِالْبَيِّنَةِ الشَّرْعِيَّة فَإِنَّهُ فِي نظر الشَّرْع يَقِين كَالثَّابِتِ بالعيان، مَعَ أَن شَهَادَة الشُّهُود لَا تخرج عَن كَونهَا خبر آحَاد يُجِيز الْعقل فِيهَا السَّهْو وَالْكذب، وَهَذَا الِاحْتِمَال الضَّعِيف لَا يخرج ذَلِك عَن كَونه يَقِينا لِأَنَّهُ لقُوَّة ضعفه قد طرح أَمَام قُوَّة مُقَابِله وَلم يبْق لَهُ اعْتِبَار فِي نظر النَّاظر (شرح القواعد الفقهية 1/79)
