Accepting a sponsor from a non-Muslim
Question:-
Can a Muslim accept charity from a non-Muslim like grocery items which is certified Halaal and clothing. If not, then what should the Muslim do with these items, if they were left at her door whilst she was away and she knows it’s charity from a Hindu?
Answer:-
Firstly, we assume that the donor is known to you and you certain that the items were left for you. If the sponsored items were all 100% Halaal and purchased from the Halaal funds of the sponsor, then there is no harm in accepting it, with the proviso that the donor has no ulterior motive in sponsoring the items, such as inclining one towards Kufr. However, if the items were Haraam (in terms of Halaal suitability) or purchased from Haraam funds, then it should be returned to the owner or disposed off in a suitable manner.
