Aching sounds in Salaah due to pain

Question:-

If one experiences pain in Salaah and as a result thereof, screams or makes an audible sound, then must he break his Salaah or can he continue with his Salaah?

Answer:-

The principle in regards to making sounds in Salaah is as follows; if the sound uttered becomes similar to a word or sentence, then Salaah will be invalidated. For example, if a sound is created whilst clearing one’s throat in Salaah, or the word ‘Uf’ is uttered, or one cries with a sound, or one utters the word ‘Aah’, then in all these instances Salaah will be invalidated.

Based on the above, it is best that your Salaah is repeated, particularly if there were sounds and screams due to pain in Salaah.

باب ما يفسد الصلاة —— والتنحنح بلا عذر والتأفيف والأنين والتأوه و وارتفاع بكائه من وجع أو مصيبة لا من ذكر جنة أو نار.  (نور الايضاح ص68 ج1)
