Applying Mehndi For Diwali
QUESTION:
Is it permissible for artists to apply Mehndi on a person in celebration of Diwali?
ANSWER:
No, it will not be permissible as this is tantamount to assisting someone in committing evil. The Quraan Majeed states:
وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
“And do not assist in sin and transgression.” [Surah Maa’idah, Verse 2]
ALLAH TA’ALA ALONE IN HIS INFINITE KNOWLEDGE KNOWS BEST!
