QUESTION:
Is it permissible to wear a shirt with the “Puma” logo? Some say that it is permissible sue to the absence of “eyes”. If not, then can it be worn out of Salaah?
ANSWER:
The Puma logo printed on clothing is generally a large logo that is easily noticeable to all. Secondly, many purchase Puma clothing primarily because of the logo. To wear clothing with the Puma logo is impermissible (Makrooh-e-Tahreemi) irrespective of whether one is performing Salaah or not, or whether the logo has eyes or not. Yes, if the head is totally removed from the logo, then the clothing may be worn. [Re: Fataawa Uthmaaniyyah Vol: 10 Pg:342/345]
