QUESTION:
If you’re fasting, and you dream that you’re masturbating, but you wake up in a shock and you still feel that excitement. Would this constitute as a wet dream and therefore necessitate Ghusl? Would such a dream break the fast?
ANSWER:
A wet dream is an erotic dream that causes involuntary ejaculation of semen. A dream where one is seen masturbating is not necessarily a wet dream, even though one finds some degree of excitement on awakening. If one awakens after observing such a dream but doesn’t find any wetness, then the fast will be intact and there is no need to take a Ghusl.
