Despondency when Duas are not granted

QUESTION:

I’m in a difficult situation and I’m feeling extremely low. It feels as though everything is going against what I made Dua for, and I’m so afraid of losing hope. Shaytaan troubles me all the time with these evil thoughts about my Dua not being accepted, and I’m completely heartbroken! Please advise me!

ANSWER:

Every Dua is accepted by Allah Ta’ala, as long as one doesn’t make Dua for sin or anything that is impossible. If the Dua is granted, then in that is the mercy of Allah Ta’ala, and if the Dua is not granted, then in that lies the mercy of Allah Ta’ala too. This means that Allah Ta’ala is protecting you and will grant you better than what you are asking for in the future Insha’Allah. Hence, there is no need for despondency, rather you should be pleased with the decision of Allah Ta’ala.
