Deterring monkeys using a pellet or gas gun

Question:-

I live on the South Coast where there are groups of monkeys that frequent the houses on a daily basis. They enter through the windows and scavenge for food or any other items that they can get their hands on. Two or three of them enter the homes at times. Is it permissible to shoot them with a gas or pellet gun?. We have tried other methods but nothing deters them.

Answer:-

If the monkeys are causing inconvenience to the residents and shooting them with a pellet gun is the only way of deterring them, then it will be permissible to do so. However, this method should not be adopted as entertainment.
