Calling the Adhaan from the Masjid

Question:-

What is the ruling with regard to calling the Adhaan from the Masjid? Some Masaajid have the mic next to the Mimbar for the Muaddhin to call out Adhaan.

Answer:- 

The Muazzin should call the Adhaan from an elevated area so that his voice may reach the people of the locality. The objective of the Adhaan is to inform the absent of Salaah. Now, if a person calls the Adhaan from such an area where the voice of the Muazzin remains restricted to that area and it doesn’t travel far and wide, then it will be considered as Makrooh. However, if this objective is fulfilled from the Masjid itself (due to using the loudspeaker), then there is no harm in calling the Adhaan from the Masjid, as calling the Adhaan is not such an act which is against the honour of the Masjid.
