Diluting Zamzam Water

Q1) Is it permissible to mix normal water with Zamzam water, with the intention that the normal water also becomes Zamzam?

A1) It is permissible to mix normal water with Zamzam. By mixing Zamzam into normal water, the normal water will acquire the blessings of Zamzam. 

Masuro Emoto was a Japanese businessman, author and pseudoscientist who claimed that human consciousness could affect the molecular structure of water. He conducted a special study on Zamzam water. His conclusions regarding it were as follows, “The quality and purity of Zamzam water will not be found anywhere else on earth. If one drop of Zamzam water is mixed with 1,000 drops of regular water, regular water will increase in quality similar to Zamzam water. The minerals in Zamzam water are far superior to any other water I have tested. The quality of Zamzam water cannot be changed even after it was recycled – it remained pure.” Zamzam water is considered by many other well-known scientists (such as Dr. Yayha Koshak and Dr. Knut Pfeiffer) to be the purest water due to the high amounts of bicarbonates (366mg/l) found within it, which is even higher than the pure water obtained from the French Alps. Q2) Is there any proof for this?

A2) Yes, this is established from a narration.

سنن النسائي (2/ 38)

أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ مُلَازِمٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَدْرٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ طَلْقٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ طَلْقِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا وَفْدًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ، وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ وَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَنَّ بِأَرْضِنَا بِيعَةً لَنَا، فَاسْتَوْهَبْنَاهُ مِنْ فَضْلِ طَهُورِهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَتَمَضْمَضَ، ثُمَّ صَبَّهُ فِي إِدَاوَةٍ وَأَمَرَنَا فَقَالَ: «اخْرُجُوا فَإِذَا أَتَيْتُمْ أَرْضَكُمْ فَاكْسِرُوا بِيعَتَكُمْ وَانْضَحُوا مَكَانَهَا بِهَذَا الْمَاءِ وَاتَّخِذُوهَا مَسْجِدًا» قُلْنَا: إِنَّ الْبَلَدَ بَعِيدٌ , وَالْحَرَّ شَدِيدٌ , وَالْمَاءَ يَنْشُفُ فَقَالَ: «مُدُّوهُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَزِيدُهُ إِلَّا طِيبًا» فَخَرَجْنَا حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا بَلَدَنَا فَكَسَرْنَا بِيعَتَنَا، ثُمَّ نَضَحْنَا مَكَانَهَا , وَاتَّخَذْنَاهَا مَسْجِدًا، فَنَادَيْنَا فِيهِ بِالْأَذَانِ , قَالَ: وَالرَّاهِبُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ طيِّئٍ، فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ الْأَذَانَ قَالَ: دَعْوَةُ حَقٍّ، ثُمَّ اسْتقْبَلَ تَلْعَةً مِنْ تِلَاعِنَا فَلَمْ نَرَهُ بَعْدُ

المسألة الثانية: في فوائده:

ومنها: أن فيه التبرك بآثار النبي – صلى الله عليه وسلم -.

ومنها: أن خلط الماء المبارك كماء زمزم بماء آخر لا يخرجه عن خاصيته، إذ بركته تعود عليه، فما يفعله بعض الحجاج عند رجوعهم

ولو حلف على ماء من ماء زمزم لا يشرب منه شيئا فصب عليه ماء من غيره كثيرا حتى صار مغلوبا فشربه يحنث لما ذكرنا من أصله أن الشيء لا يصير مستهلكا بجنسه
