Eating or drinking from a chipped utensil

Question:-

Is it permissible to eat and drink from chipped utensils? If not, why?

Answer:-

We are prohibited from eating and drinking from utensils which are chipped or broken on the edges.

Hadrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam prohibited from drinking from a cup with a chipped/cracked end (as the lip of the drinker cannot grip onto the chipped cup and water will spill onto the face and clothing whilst drinking the liquid), and (he prohibited) from blowing in drinks.”

Also, logically, there is a fear of getting cut with the chipped end of the cup or even particles of the chipped end could enter the utensil, hence one should refrain from using chipped or cracked utensils.
