Question:-
An elderly woman that is approximately 80 years-old, intends performing Hajj without a Mahram, as she doesn’t have any Mahaarim to accompany her. She will remain in the company of other females that are also going for Hajj who have been accompanied by their respective Mahrams. Will it be permissible for her to undertake the journey?
Answer:-
It is Haraam for a woman to undertake a journey to perform Hajj without a Mahram, even though she may be of advanced age and will be accompanying other females that are travelling for Hajj with their respective Mahaarim. If she is unable to find a Mahram to accompany her for Hajj until her demise, then it is obligatory upon her to make a bequest for someone to perform Hajj on her behalf.
