Females covering their head in the home

Question:-

I would like some explanation and clarification on females covering their hair in the house whilst among their Mahaarim, and at night whilst outside in the garden.

I’ve heard about a Hadith or something to the effect that Angels feel shy when a woman has her hair uncovered.

Answer:-

The Ulama have written that leaving the hair open is regarded as a defect and fault in an honourable and religious home. This could also lead to non-adherence of Purdah and freedom (in one’s dressing) whereby one may even regard leaving the upper portion of the chest open (in the home) as acceptable. Hence, one should refrain from such laxity and ensure that the hair is covered even in the home (or outside during the day and night).
