Ghusl after Haidh

Jan 16, 2023 | Haidh And Nifaas

Question:-

Last month I experienced a full ten days of bleeding during Haidh. This month, my bleeding stopped at nine and a half days. I made Ghusl and performed Salaah. On day eleven, I started to spot again. Do I have to make Qadha of the Salaah that I made on day eleven since I didn’t make Ghusl after ten days? I made Ghusl only after 9 and half days?

In future will it be necessary for me to make Ghusl after ten days, even though my Haidh stops before that, out of fear that it might start again after the ten days?

Answer:-

In your situation, you were required to revert to your previous habit of Haidh which was ten days, as mentioned in your query. Therefore, your Ghusl on the ninth day will not suffice for the performance of Salaah. At the end of ten days, you were required to renew your Ghusl and perform Salaah. Hence, any Salaah performed after the tenth day with the previous Ghusl (of the ninth day) will have to be repeated.

In future, if your Haidh terminates before ten complete days, then you should wait until the end of the Mustahab time of Salaah. If there is no bleeding, then you should make Ghusl and commence with Salaah. If the bleeding returns after the tenth day, then you should return to your previous habit, which is ten days currently. In such an instance, Ghusl will be required on completion of ten days as stated above. You may therefore take a Ghusl after the tenth day so that the Salaah performed after the tenth will not have to be repeated, if the bleeding returns. We hope that this is understood.
