QUESTION:
In addition to one having Kaffarah due to intentionally breaking a fast, one also has a number of Qadhaa fasts accumulated over time for a few months of Ramadhan, owing to missing those fasts. Should one start keeping the Qadhaa of all the missed fasts only after the Kaffarah for the one broken fast? Or, is one allowed to start with fulfilling the Qadhaa for missed fasts, and then do Kaffarah afterwards?
ANSWER:
One should commence with the Qadhaa fasts and then discharge the Kaffarah. However, it is also permissible to discharge the Kaffarah first, and then keep the Qadhaa fasts. In conclusion, both ways are acceptable.
