Greeting on the day of Jumuah with ‘Jumuah Mubarak.’

Question:-

What is the ruling with regard to ‘Jumuah Mubarak’ messages. Should we respond to such messages or simply ignore them?

Answer:-

The greeting of ‘Jumuah Mubarak’ is not proven from the Quraan Sharif or the Ahadith of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Since there is no proof for the said greeting, we should refrain from circulating ‘Jumuah Mubarak’ messages or greeting others with the words ‘Jumuah Mubarak’.

We have been taught to greet each other with Salaam on every occasion hence, we should greet fellow Muslims with the greeting of Salaam on the day of Jumuah as well.
