Hanging Amulets in one’s business

Question:-

Is it correct for us to hang an amulet in the shop? I prefer reading Quraan Sharif but Maulana insists that we hang amulets all over the shop. Please advise!

Answer:-

The sustenance of a servant is increased by obeying Allah Ta’ala and following the teachings of His Rasul Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam. If a person violates the laws of the Shariah, then his sustenance will gradually decrease even though he may hang verses of the Quraan Sharif or Duas in his business or home. On the other hand, if he obeys Allah Ta’ala in every way such as, performing his five daily Salaah in the Masjid with Jamaat (for men), fasting in the month of Ramadaan, discharging Zakaat correctly, reciting Quraan Sharif daily and refraining from all forms of sins etc. then he will be blessed with an abundance of Barakah even though he may not have a single Taweez hanging in his business or home.

Now coming to your query, it is fundamentally permissible to hang a Taweez (Amulet) in one’s business.[1] However, we would advise that one recites verses of the Quraan Sharif or Duas from the Ahadith of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam (together with obeying the commands of Allah Ta’ala and refraining from His disobedience as explained above) which will prove to be much more effective Insha’Allah.
