Haafidhah using medication to delay her menses in Ramadaan

Mar 14, 2022 | Haidh And Nifaas

Question:-

Will it be permissible for a Haafidhah to delay her Haidh (by using medication) in Ramadhan, so that she is able to perform Taraweeh with ease (as there’s a possibility of only having approximately 16/17 nights)? What is the best solution to this?

Answer:-

We do not advise the usage of pills or medication to delay your menstrual cycle during Ramadaan. Many females that use the pill end up with numerous complications later on. We, therefore, suggest that you increase your recitation in Taraweeh when Ramadaan commences, as we are all fresh and energetic at the beginning of Ramadaan. You should try to complete the entire Quraan Sharif within 10 or 15 nights. Thereafter, you may recite from any portion of the Quraan Sharif during your remaining clean days. In this instance, you won’t require medication to delay your menses.

On the other hand, if your menstrual cycle commences at the beginning of Ramadaan, then you should increase your recitation after your menstrual cycle (has terminated) according to the number of clean days remaining.
