Keeping one fast with two intentions

Question:-

Can one fast be kept with two intentions, such as Qadhaa and Nafl?

Answer:-

According to some Fuqaha, it will be permissible to join between a Qadah fast and a Nafl fast, for example, fasting on the day of Arafah with the intention of Qadah and the fast of Arafah, or, Nazr (vow) and the fast of Arafah, or Kaffaarah and the fast of Arafah. However, it will be best to keep each fast independently.

صام في يوم عرفة مثل قضا، او نذرا، او كفارة، ونوي معه الصوم عن يوم عرفة، افتي بعضهم بالصحة، والحصول عنهما (غمز عيون البصائر شرح الاشباه والنظير ج١ ص١٤٧)
