Matric parties
Question:-
Kindly advise with regard to our Muslim youth (including girls) attending the so called “matric parties”, dressed in revealing clothing, intermingling with non-Mahaarim males of other religious faiths.
I will appreciate if Mufti Sahib can respond to this urgently so that our Muslim children can be protected from going astray!
Answer:-
Unfortunately, we are living in an era where parents are more concerned with the education of their children rather than the Imaan of their children. The objective behind educating one’s children is to attain financial stability and security. Maintaining such a belief is against the very grain of Imaan as we believe that Allah alone is our Sustainer and Provider as mentioned in various verses of the Quraan Sharif.
Allah Ta’ala states, “The responsibility of sustaining every creature on earth rests with Allah.” [Verse 6, Surah 11.] In another verse Allah Ta’ala states, “We don’t ask provision (sustenance), but We provide for you.” [Verse 132, Surah 20] Yet in another verse Allah Ta’ala states, “Without doubt, Allah is the Sustainer, the Possessor of absolute power, Strong.”
A clear proof of Allah Ta’ala being the sole Provider and Sustainer (and not our education) can be witnessed in the various countries that have faced destruction as a result of war yet people continue with life. They have no homes, businesses, offices, jobs, yet they continue to eat, drink and live. Allah Ta’ala sends their sustenance from all over the world which they receive so conveniently at their doorstep.
Unfortunately, we have traded in our Imaan for a plate of food by sending our children to Kuffar schools where they are robbed of their Imaan, their shame and modesty, the respect of Deen and seniors, as well as the Sahaabah and pious predecessors etc. Many of them believe that Allah Ta’ala doesn’t exist whilst others believe in Allah, yet they feel that they are entitled to do as they wish with their lives.
Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam is reported to have said, “When Hayaa (modesty) leaves a person then do as you please.” [Re:- Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah] Since the current education system has robbed our young boys and girls of their Hayaa, they freely and proudly attend matric parties and matric balls which is totally Haraam, females dressed in shameless clothing and freely intermingling and taking pictures with Ghair Mahram boys who are Muslims and non-Muslims, driving around in luxury cars until the early hours of the morning, getting involved in alcohol and substance abuse, and how many Muslim girls lose their chastity with many of them being impregnated. One night is sufficient to destroy the life of our young generation who must have been pursuing some career or degree in life. If parents are not prepared to change the situation and prevent their children from such places of vice and evil, then they might have to shed tears of blood.
It is the parents who afford total freedom to their children (by trusting them) and approving of such activities, hence, they are to be blamed to a great extent. We should always remember that by restricting ourselves (to the laws of Allah and His Rasul Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) we will attain salvation, and in living a life of freedom is our destruction. The Hadith states, “The world is a prison for a believer and Jannah for a Kaafir.” [Re:- Musannaf Ibn Abi Shai’ba] Allah Ta’ala is Most-Merciful and Most-Kind and placed restrictions upon us so that we may be protected from harm and ultimately enter Jannah. May Allah Ta’ala grant us all the understanding. Ameen!
ALLAH TA’ALA KNOWS BEST!
