Question:-
Is a person considered to be a youth till the age of 33? I read somewhere that in Jannah our age will be 33.
Answer:-
At the age of 33 a male reaches full strength, between 33 and 40 he maintains the strength and after 40 there is a gradual decline until one reaches old age. One reaches complete maturity at 40 hence the Ambiya Alaihimus Salaam were blessed with Nabuwwat at the age of 40.
أنبأ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، ثنا آدَمُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ: {وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ} [القصص: 14] ، يَعْنِي: «ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً» ، {وَاسْتَوَى} [القصص: 14] ، يَعْنِي: «أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً» (تفيسر مجاهد ص525 ج1)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا ابْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، {حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ} [الأحقاف: 15] قَالَ: «ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ» وَقَالَ آخَرُونَ: هُوَ بُلُوغُ الْحُلُمِ (تفسير الطبري ص139 ج21)
