Muqtadi making Salaam before the Imaam

QUESTION:-

What is the ruling if a Muqtadi makes Salaam before the Imaam?

ANSWER:-

If the Muqtadi, after completing the Tashahhud, makes Salaam before the Imaam due to a need, for example, having a strong urge to visit the bathroom, then it will be permissible to complete the Salaam before the Imaam. However, if the Muqtadi made Salaam without a valid excuse, then contradicting the Imaam (by making Salaam before him) will be considered as Makrooh.

وان سلم المقتدي قبل الامام، وذهب، ان كان بعذر يجوز، وان لم يكن بعذر يكره مخالفة الامام (تاتارخانيه ج٢ ص١٩٠)
