QUESTION:
Are we permitted to name a child Maalik?
ANSWER:
We haven’t found any prohibition preventing us from keeping the name Maalik. Moreover, the word Maalik means “owner” which does not have a negative meaning. Hence, it is permissible to keep such a name. [Re: Qaamusul Waheed Vol.2 Pg. 158]
